Considering he plays a corrupt Irish cop who likes to use hookers in his new movie “The Guard,” Brendan Gleeson is hoping that the police in Ireland will not give him a hard time for giving them a bad name.
"I'll let you know the next time I get a ticket for everything, or for absolutely nothing,” said Gleeson at the Sundance Film Festival, according to the Irish Independent.
"The film went down a storm last night, which is great because the buyers are in and they are taking and it looks as if it will get distribution here," the actor told the newspaper.
While Gleeson’s character indulges in his vices, he also looks after his ailing mother and ignores a huge drug operation in his jurisdiction.
But the cartel does not escape the attention the FBI, who send a straight-laced agent played by Don Cheadle to check out what is going on.
The movie also stars Liam Cunningham and Fionnula Flanagan and is due to hit screens in Ireland over the summer.
