“Heartbeat of Home", an Irish dance show from the producers of "Riverdance" is set to launch in Dublin this week. The show is expected to come to the United States in March 2014.
Speaking in New York at the Children’s Hospital Dublin fundraiser at the New York Athletic Club, John McColgan, co-founder of ‘Riverdance” with wife Moya Doherty, described the new show which will tour the United States as ‘multi ethnic’ and as very exciting with no spoken words.
McColgan and Doherty were accepting a cultural award for their outstanding services to Irish culture worldwide.
Los Angeles based composer Brian Byrne has created the score for the new show. He won a Golden Globe for his song ‘Lay Your head Down’ from the movie “Albert Nobbs.”
The show will premiere in Dublin at the Bord Gais theater, in Ringsend, in Dublin.
McColgan and Doherty are hoping that lightning will strike again after the massive success of Riverdance which grossed billions after it started out life as a filler during the Eurovision song contest show on Irish television in 1994.
