The Dallas St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival will be marking its 44th anniversary this Saturday, March 15.
The now massive event had humble beginnings in 1979 when it was "really nothing more than just a few vehicles, more than a few cold ones, and a dream."
With more than 125,000 attendees and 100-plus parade entries, the Dallas St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival has today become one of the largest St. Patrick’s events in the southwest of the US.
Hosted by the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA) and sponsored by the Dallas Mavericks, this year's Dallas St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival will feature floats, music, food trucks, and "an Irish spirit of celebration," organizers say.
Featured event activities on Saturday include The Festival Zone, located at 5111 Greenville Ave and the Meadows Building, which will include food trucks, exhibitor booths, sponsor exhibits, family-friendly activities, and a VIP Tailgate Area.
Meanwhile, the 7th Annual Comerica Bank Family Zone is located at Lovers Lane and Greenville Avenue and will be equipped with arts and crafts, kids’ activities, and treats for the entire family (no alcoholic beverages allowed in this area).
Kevin Vela, Board Chairman of GAABA, said: “Every year we look forward to one of Metroplex’s largest and most iconic events, the St. Patrick’s Parade, and this year we are thrilled to continue the partnership with the Dallas Mavericks to bring that vision to life.
“The Mavs organization has been our number one sponsor for many years and a phenomenal parade partner. We’re proud to work together to bring top notch family-friendly entertainment to the community while making a valuable contribution to Dallas ISD high school seniors through our educational scholarship fund.”
Proceeds from the 2025 Dallas St. Patrick's Day Parade will go toward the GAABA Scholarship Fund, which has awarded nearly $200,000 to graduating high school seniors to date. Each year, GAABA awards up to $15,000 to select students at Conrad, Wilson, and North Dallas High Schools. Online donations can be made here.
“The Mavericks are excited to once again partner with G.A.A.B.A. to host one of Dallas’ most beloved traditions,” said Rick Welts, Dallas Mavericks CEO.
“We look forward to bringing the community together for this memorable event and contributing to the future of Dallas ISD scholars."
The one and only! We are ready… are you! 🫵
