Lisa McHugh has opened up about the "panic" she felt after her baby daughter Hallie Marie fell ill with RSV for the second time just before Christmas.

The Scottish singer’s six-month-old daughter first contracted RSV and bronchiolitis in November 2024 and had to be hospitalised for 10 days, an experience Lisa described as "traumatic" and "horrendous."

However, baby Hallie was only getting over her first dose of RSV when she got sick again just weeks later and had to be hospitalised for a second time during a family trip to Glasgow.

Lisa, who is already mum to her two-year-old son, Milo, welcomed her second child, Hallie Marie, in July 2024 and said her "stomach sank" when she heard her daughter had RSV for the second time.

Speaking about her baby girl’s second health scare, Lisa told her followers: "We went home to my mum and dad’s for Christmas and literally a few days before it she got RSV again. We ended up in the hospital in Glasgow again with her."

She continued: "So just before Christmas again we were thrown into the the depths of panic because [we were] sitting in the hospital a second time, being told that she had the same thing again, literally only a few weeks after she had it. My stomach just sank because I just thought, 'We cannot go through this again.'"

Thankfully little baby Hallie’s RSV symptoms weren’t ‘anywhere near as bad’ the second time and the family were able to make it home in time for Christmas.

Lisa said: "Because we had just [gone] through it, we kind of knew how to handle her symptoms better. We just done the same thing again but it was all down to her feeding and her oxygen.

"Her oxygen levels were ok thankfully, she wasn’t feeling great but we knew what to monitor and the hospital were happy to let us home and keep an eye on her and as long as she was doing what she needed to."

Lisa said she wanted to be ‘transparent’ with other parents about her daughter’s health struggles and make them aware that it is possible for babies to be reinfected with RSV twice in the same season.

She said: "I don’t want to pretend that she is fully recovered because she’s not and I just wanted to be kind of transparent with other parents as well because it is a partly common for babies to contract it again within the first few weeks of getting it the first time.

"So beware and be mindful. Obviously, I’m not trying to scaremonger anyone either or cry a pity party because I do know it also could be an awful lot worse but because her immune system is so low, she’s just picking up one thing after another."

We hope little Hallie gets completely better soon!
