The Irish Heritage Festival returns to Massachusetts' most Irish neighborhood, Dorchester on October 12.

Dorchester will celebrate its Irish roots and showcase the neighborhood via a day-long celebration filled with family fun, great food provided by Dorchester's local restaurants, and fantastic entertainment, including the best of Irish music on three stages.

Now in it's fourth year, organizers have once again put together a full program of entertainment; dance performances; and cultural activities to ensure there is something for everyone at their annual event.

Performances from a variety of New England and Irish entertainers included on the line-up are Erin’s Melody; Silver Spears; Devri; Pauline Wells; Ireland the Band; John Dlaton; Mairin Ui Cheide; The Gobshites; The Fenian Sons; Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann; Tin Can Hooley; Erin’s Guild; and the Boston Fire Department Pipe Band

Boston-area Irish dance schools will be well represented at the festival, with the O’Shea-Chaplin Academy of Irish Dance; Smith-Houlihan Dance Academy; Greene-O’Leary School of Irish Dance, and Brady-Kenny-O’Brien Academy of Irish Dance. Other attractions on the day include John Henry’s World of Magic, suitable for kids of all ages; For those wishing to trace their Irish family tree, TIARA (The Irish Ancestral Research Association), will be on-hand to help with your Irish genealogical and historical research and to answer questions. For dog lovers, the Irish Setters Club of New England who work for the improvement, advancement and development of the Irish Setter will be in attendance all day.

The festival will take place on Sunday, October. 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Florian Hall (55 Hallet Street) and the John McKeon Post AmVets 146, Dorchester.
