Róisín Cryan, who is originally from Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim, had been living in Ballina, Co Mayo and is believed to have died on Saturday, January 11.

Conor was due to play against Crossmolina Deelrovers this weekend in the GAA Intermediate Championship Club Final however this was postponed in respect to Conor and Róisín's family.

A post n RIP.ie says: "Róisín will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family. Forever cherished daughter of Joe and Marguerite, loving fiancé Conor Loftus, adored sisters Annmarie, Clare, Ruth and Maeve, Clare's fiancé Eugene, the Loftus family, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbors, work colleagues and a large circle of friends."

Many have sent their love and messages of sympathy to the family with one stating "My sincere condolences to the Cryan and Loftus families. Róisín was such a kind and lovely person, my thoughts are with those and closest to her at this difficult time."

Another described how she knew Róisín, "I was extremely lucky to have met with Róisín and worked with her a few years ago, she was a beautiful girl. Deepest sympathy to all of Róisín's loving family and friends."

Róisín's funeral is set to take place at St. Mary's Church, Carrick-on-Shannon on January 15 followed by a burial at Drumlion Cemetery.
