Over €95,000 ($104,186) has been raised for a family of an Irishman shot dead in the US.

Two teenagers have been arrested after Shaun Brady, originally from Co. Tipperary, was shot dead outside his restaurant in Kansas City in the state of Missouri.

He was a co-owner and chef of an Irish bar and restaurant called Brady’s KC.

Police said they responded to a report of a shooting in a car park next to several businesses on 63rd and Rockhill, where Mr Brady’s restaurant is located.

Investigators said that from their initial inquiries, Mr Brady was taking out rubbish when he saw several people beside a vehicle in the car park. After an interaction with them, he was shot.

Police said that within an hour of the incident, two juvenile male teenagers were taken into custody.

Mr Brady, 44, met his wife, Kate, while she was travelling in Ireland from Wichita. The couple married in 2005 before settling in Kansas City over a decade ago.

The Kansas City Irish Fest, which is organising the fundraiser on GoFundMe, wrote: ‘By donating to the Shaun Brady Memorial Fund through Go Fund Me, you can ensure lasting support for Shaun’s family, including his beloved wife and two young children, helping them feel the comfort and security of his legacy for years to come.’
