Farrell walked away with the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Miniseries or Movie, while O’Byrne (who wasn’t in attendance but got a shout-out by Ralph Fiennes) won alongside his "Conclave" co-stars for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
The event, hosted by "The Good Place" and "Nobody Wants This" star Kristen Bell, is the second last of awards season, with the Oscars just one week away and the race is heating up for this year’s Academy Awards, especially now.
One of the big surprises of the night was the fact that Adrian Brody did not win for his role in "The Brutalist", but was pipped to the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role by Timothée Chalamet for his role as Bob Dylan in "A Complete Unknown".
Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Kieran Culkin rounded out the film acting categories, with "Shogun" dominating the Drama TV categories, winning all awards they were nominated for, including Stunt Ensemble.
"Only Murders in the Building" pulled off a surprise win, or two, on the night as well, winning Best Comedy Ensemble (beating the likes of "Hacks" and "Abbott Elementary") and Martin Short won his first SAG Award for Leading Comedy Actor.
